Bridges is committed to the long-term success of motivated Baltimore City youth & to providing life changing volunteer opportunities for independent school students.
The Student Experience
Bridges currently supports the long-term success of 200+ motivated Baltimore City youth ages 9-18 via its sites at St. Paul’s School (est. 1993) and at Gilman School (est. 2014). Rising fourth grade students enter the program from eight Baltimore City Public Schools in northeast Baltimore.
Over their nine years in the program, students receive access to a year- round support system with four key components: (I) summer programs, (II) school-year programs, (III) middle, high school, and post-high school guidance support, and (IV) one-on-one academic and social support.
The Volunteer Experience
170+ high school students per year from St. Paul’s School, St. Paul’s School for Girls, Gilman School, Roland Park Country School, and Bryn Mawr School currently serve as after school tutors to the program’s youngest students and volunteer as assistant counselors in the Summer Institute. Bonds made between students and volunteers change lives and are a big part of what makes Bridges special.
