About
Teraco Inc. was established in 1962 in Minneapolis as a custom imprinter of plastics and other materials. It entered the advertising specialty business shortly thereafter, and has grown to become a high-tech producer of a wide variety of credit/ID cards, phone cards, and promotional products. The company's philosophy is to produce superior quality products at superior levels of service, but at competitive prices. It's focus is adding value to a piece of plastic, be it a retail store charge card, membership card mailer, or customer-specified product. Sales are handled through a network of established distributors in business forms, advertising specialty, hospitality, and private-label card markets. Teraco is located in Midland, Texas (about half way between Dallas and El Paso) and enjoys outstanding air and shipping services due to Midland's prominence as the headquarters of the West Texas Oil Industry. Capabilities include a completely digital pre-press department utilizing both Macintosh and PC based workstations. Customers can send artwork on floppy disks, CD's, Iomega Zip disks, FTP, or e-mail. Process color separations can be made from transparencies or reflective art. Images are output to a 3,600 dpi Agfa Image setter, which produces either film or printing plates. Color proofing with high-res state-of-the-art printers, and on-line "e-proofing". The pressroom is equipped with four presses, from one through four colors, with ultraviolet curing units. The presses range in size from a one-card-up format for small express orders to 72-up format. Teraco has a literal "wall" of graphic quality awards from International Associations as testimony to its intense focus on excellence. Finishing: A magnetic tape layer, film/sheet collator, Automatic transfer laminator, multiple steam-powered laminators plus optical and computerized cutting and counting equipment round out the finishing operation. A rigorous quality assurance program yields the finished product to the customer. All cards comply with ISO 7810, 7811, and/or 7813. Fulfillment: Secure fulfillment facilities include Multiple Datacard 9000, 7000, UG800 imaging, embossing, encoding, and carrier printing and matching equipment.
