Satellite Logistics Group began in 1984 as S&S Services. The company was founded by Al & Karin Schwerman with a strong philosophy of exceptional customer service. This start-up endeavor specialized in providing rail piggyback services and the coordination of complex project freight. In 1988 the company was incorporated as S&S Traffic Management and expanded its service offering to include interstate truck brokerage. During this time the business grew as a result of referrals and the Schwermans\' dedication to service, honesty and creative solutions to logistics challenges. The company also began to serve companies in the beverage industry. The additional expertise and knowledge required to coordinate alcohol licensing, freshness dated product and temperature controls, were a perfect fit for a detail oriented, high service transportation provider. In 1990, Kevin Brady, Karin\'s son, joined the business as a second-generation member of the S&S team, bringing with him experience gained from a career with a fortune 100 automotive parts distribution company. Mr. Brady soon turned his efforts toward formalizing the company\'s empty keg collection activities into a comprehensive reverse supply chain program for regional and imported draft beer suppliers. The US Patent and Trademark Office registered this program as KEGSPEDITER in 1994. Upon the founders\' retirement in 1994, Kevin Brady became President of the company. By building upon the service culture of the company and articulating a vision of the opportunities to provide new innovative solutions to the beverage industry, he established a growth strategy that has created revenue growth of over 600% during the past five years. The company has greatly expanded the services it provides the beverage industry during this time of growth. Satellite Logistics Group was formed as a wholly owned subsidiary and embarked upon a series of Third Party Logistics (3PL) warehousing and distribution endeavors as well as becoming a FMC licensed Freight Forwarder and Non-vessel Operation Common Carrier (NVOCC). To accomplish this growth, a talented team of logistics professionals from virtually every aspect of supply chain logistics have been recruited, each providing a wealth of knowledge and practical experience to contribute to designing and maintaining logistics solutions. An information technologies group was also formed, staffed by application developers, a network engineer and a graphics designer to leverage today\'s technologies and communication tools.
