Laura Baker Services Association’s mission is to respect the life choices and dreams of people with developmental disabilities and help them reach their goals.
Miss Laura Baker founded her residential school in 1897, dedicated to the idea that people with disabilities could be educated and become productive members of society.
Today, we are confident that Miss Baker would be thrilled by how her vision has transformed the lives of so many people: clients, their families and staff.
Miss Baker’s vision continues to guide our philosophy of care: we strongly believe that all people need to live their own, best lives.
*We provide seamless support and services throughout a lifetime, regardless of the type or severity of disability
*We offer individualized treatment plans that emphasize continuous learning and growth based on each person’s wants, needs and dreams.
*We recognize the importance of family involvement, and value the nourishing power of friendships.
*We function like a large family: staff members know clients personally.
*We do not refuse service to people when difficult problems arise.
*We are proud of our reputation for effectively working with people with dual diagnosis of DD and mental illness, and our success with those with a history of abuse.
