Founded in 1919 in lower Manhattan by my grandfather, Herman Neuwirth, Testrite was originally an importer and manufacturer of scientific instruments. WW II forced the company to rely solely on manufacturing, producing government specified optical goods and war materials. In 1955 the company moved to Newark, N.J.
