Nichols Research, Inc. was established in 1979 by Mimi Nichols to provide quality data collection throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California. The company has grown to its current status as one of the top 100 independent, woman-owned businesses in the area. Headquartered in Sunnyvale, Santa Clara County, California, Nichols Research also has branch offices in: Downtown San Francisco, San Francisco County; Concord, Contra Costa County; Fremont, Alameda County and, Fresno, Fresno County, California. Nichols Research specializes in data collection methodologies including phone interviewing, in-person intercepts and qualitative recruiting. Nichols Research provides state-of-the-art facilities for focus group and IDI viewing. Other specialty areas include: medical research, mystery shopping, car clinics, mock juries, travel and tourism, high technology and usability labs. Recruiters and interviewers are thoroughly trained using a program that was developed internally and incorporates the standards of the Marketing Research Association, CMOR and other industry organizations. All staff involved with a project, from the project managers to interviewers, attends an intensive briefing to make sure they understand the parameters and client objectives. Officers of Nichols Research have demonstrated commitment to the Marketing Research Profession through continued involvement in national and local associations. Mimi Nichols is a Past President of the National Marketing Research Association and Immediate Past President of the San Francisco Chapter of the American Marketing Association. Ms. Nichols also was Secretary of the Council for Marketing and Opinion Research and a Past President of the Northern California/Pacific Northwest Chapter of the MRA. Jane Rosen, Vice President of Nichols Research, is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the National Marketing Research Association and a Past President of the Northern California/Pacific Northwest Chapter of the MRA.
