The Windgap Foundation was founded 65 years ago as a not-for-profit organisation to provide schooling to children with intellectual disabilities. Today, Windgap provides fundamental programs, services and continued learning to foster independence, life skills, fun and empowerment for adults with intellectual disabilities. These include: Plan Management and Support Coordination School Leavers Employment Service Life After Work program Day Programs recreational, sport and community participation Life skills, language, literacy and numeracy programs Supported Employment Service Flexible Support Service Supported Accommodation Growability our landscape employment initiative Making Airwaves our unique radio program initiative Windgap's Customer Care and Advocacy team is a new Capacity Building business unit of The Windgap Foundation, dedicated to empowering, promoting and advocating for the independence and human rights of people with disabilities within the community. Customer Care and Advocacy team manage, coordinate and support around 300 participants and their family to achieve their NDIS goals and aspirations in: Person Centred and holistic NDIS Planning Support Coordination Plan Management Advocacy Allied Health and Social Work Our mission: To improve the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities by supporting them in reaching their full potential and raising community awareness as to their needs and aspirations.
