Begun in 1984, Consultis has grown from offering MIS staff within mainframe environments to providing professionals for design and development projects in all types of IT environments. Barbara Dettman Fleming founded Consultis in 1984 with the know how she acquired through a lifelong apprenticeship she served with her father, Leroy E. Dettman, founder of what is now known as Spherion. In the early forties, Leroy started a staffing company in Chicago, IL called City Car Unloaders.
