OUR MISSION: To produce safe, productive and profitable coal. Bengalla Mining Company, located four kilometres south west of Muswellbrook in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, supplies international markets with thermal coal. Bengalla is an open cut mine, using a dragline, truck and excavator method. After being washed and prepared for sale, the coal is loaded onto trains for transportation 130km to the port of Newcastle where it is shipped to international customers. Bengalla Mining Company is a joint venture ownership with Wesfarmers holding 40%, New Hope Group 40%, Mitsui 10% and Taipower 10%. Bengalla honours its commitment to manage health, safety and environmental risks and work with the community to build enduring relationships.
