Presbyterians have a long tradition of caring for the servants of the Presbyterian Church. Over the years, the Church's expression of this responsibility toward its servants has been shaped by changing social and economic conditions. Today, much of this responsibility has been entrusted to the Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) which, through a soundly funded and managed program, provides pension income, death benefits, disability protection, medical benefits coverage, retirement housing and income supplements, nursing home care and assistance for the emergency needs of the churchworkers of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
