The Health Promotion Agency (HPA) is a Crown entity established on 1 July 2012 under the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act 2000. Our Vision: New Zealanders realise their potential for good health and improved quality of life and New Zealand’s economic and social development is enhanced by people leading healthier lives. Our Mission: To inspire all New Zealanders to lead healthy lives. HPA’s current work contributes to the Government’s health targets and key health initiatives across the major issues of alcohol, minimising gambling harm, immunisation, nutrition and physical activity, mental health, skin cancer prevention and tobacco control.
