We have developed an IN-HOUSE rehabilitation team. Whether the goal is to return home or simply to improve quality of life, we can help your loved one. Our services include: · Short-term care- providing intensive rehabilitation or transitional care between hospital and home. · Long-term care- offering a new home when extended care is needed. · Respite care- temporarily assisting when a care giver needs relief or vacation. Our activities include outings to the local cafe for coffee, shopping to nearby Pampa, Christmas light gazing or occasionally just a ride around town to stay in touch with what is going on. Regular activities include band night (twice a month the area musicians come and play bluegrass and gospel music), bingo, dominoes, cookouts, in-room reading, music or whatever hobby the resident enjoys. HOW WE BEGAN ... Wheeler Nursing and Rehabilitation has been established in Wheeler since 1982. We are constantly striving to find new methods of treatments for our residents which offer the greatest level of comfort. Our goal, like yours is to make the transition as simple and stress less as possible. Wheeler is known as the town of friendship and pride. We are the county seat and the oldest county in the Texas panhandle. The town has a stable economy, bolstered by strong ranching, farming, oil and gas related industry. Wheeler is located fifteen minutes north of Shamrock off of I-40, or 35 minutes east of Pampa on highway 152. Our facility offers transportation to and from resident appointments.
