School for Startups was founded in 2008 as a social purpose business to help people start their own businesses through our world-class training and support courses. School for Startups has developed its core curricula on the vital aspects of starting and growing a business, in a logical and easy to implement way. (for more information please check our web site www.schoolforstartups.co.uk) Some Programs S4S had develop around the world DEVELOPMENT OF A NAUTICAL TOURISM PRODUCT FOR SAN ANDRES AND PROVIDENCE ISLAND IN COLOMBIA As part of the project, S4S is working with local nautical tourism companies to develop their businesses through entrepreneurship training and mentoring. The program seeks to develop a plan to develop a sustainable economy based on increasing the quality of the tourism offer to provide a more attractive proposition that will appeal to a more up-market and economically attractive tourist. At the same time, the project created the conditions for local entrepreneurs to obtain a greater share of the wealth generated by the tourism industry fostering local pride and generating more local wealth while preserving and highlighting the unique culture of the Archipelago. PEACE AND SECURITY FOR WOMEN IN POST-ACCORD COLOMBIA. LOCATION: CHOCÓ AND PUTUMAYO In partnership with the UTCH, the local University in Chocó, School for Startups is training Afro-Colombian and Indigenous women who have been affected by the conflict to develop and grow their own businesses to increase their self-sufficiency, develop their leadership skills and support their families. The program focussed on helping the women create new businesses, develop their existing businesses and help local cooperatives that support local women. The program comprised a mix of entrepreneurship training workshops and on-going mentoring across a period of six months. In total over 50 women have been supported in growing their local businesses. SCHOOL FOR CREATIVE STARTUPS School for Creative Startups is an interactive course delivering all the business know how to help creative people build sustainable startups, without all the technical gibberish and theoretical rhetoric. The aim is to support up and coming startups in the region and launch hundreds of new businesses as a result.
