The Maricopa County Assessor's Office identifies, lists and values all property within Maricopa County. We work to fairly and equitably value over 1.7 million real property parcels and personal property accounts on an annual basis which total a market value of over $508 billion as of 2018.
The accuracy of this data is critical to the fair distribution of property taxes that fund local school districts, towns, cities and Maricopa County. The Assessor's Office does not set the property tax rates or collect property taxes. Each school district, city and the Board of Supervisors for Maricopa County establish the property tax rates according to their needs in a public forum and the Maricopa County Treasurer's Office then acts to collect taxes.
To assist the public, we operate the property tax exemption programs, provide public data on parcels both on our website and in a map function and work with the public if they appeal their property values.
Our office seeks to continuously improve the service we provide for Maricopa County residents and be an international leader in the property tax administration and assessment field.
