Medivet began in 1987 with one man's dream to offer the highest standard of veterinary care - 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our founding partner, Asher Teper, purchased the Hendon veterinary practice and, together with David Fluss in Watford, created the Medivet Group. John Gladstone joined as the third partner the following year to take charge of the newly-purchased Finchley practice, before moving to our Enfield clinic some time later. In 1989, we established our first start-up at Mill Hill, run by our fourth partner, Richard Leonard, who then moved to the Hendon practice in 1991. Arnold Levy joined in 1990, when the Kingsbury practice became part of our family. From small beginnings and nearly 30 years later, we have grown steadily. We now have over 160 practices across the UK all sharing the Medivet values of everyday exceptional care, trust and progress. As an Investors in People organisation, we're committed to supporting and developing our people. Through our tiered partnership structure, vets who enter the partnership have the opportunity to progress and become involved in the running of the entire group. Our growth is fuelled by vets and our group is run by vets — our profession is at the heart of all we do. We're built on a "hub-and-spoke"”‹ model. We have nine 24-hour centres (hubs) and over 150 satellite practices (spokes). The main centres have a very broad range of facilities from ultrasonography, laparoscopy and endoscopy, to blood transfusion, MRI scanners and hip replacement facilities. Our head office, which is known as our Support Centre, is based in Watford and handles the day-to-day regulatory and administrative duties in order to support our practices, and to allow our vets to focus on delivering amazing client and patient care. Our Medivet Training College has been established since 2002, specialising in teaching and delivering quality veterinary nursing training.
