In recent years, Greenwald has implemented the principals of \"lean thinking\" to re-engineer our operations and improve all aspects of the way we deliver our products and services to our customers. Greenwald has its roots in Brooklyn, N.Y., where the company operated for more than 40 years. In 1996, we moved to a larger, more modern facility in Chester, Conn., on the banks of the Connecticut River. Joining us at our new facility were many of the same employees who had helped the company grow and prosper in New York. At the same time, Greenwald embarked on an exciting revitalization of our product line, accomplished through the acquisition of Intellicard, Ltd., an innovator of Smart Card payment systems. Smart Card technology, used extensively in Europe and other parts of the world, is spreading throughout the United States through the initiatives of companies such as Microsoft, American Express and Visa, to name a few. Greenwald\'s initial focus for its Smart Card product line is naturally in the coin-operated laundry market, but the expertise we have developed in this new technology will carry the company into new and exciting markets in the years to come.
