The Upper Valley Haven is a private, non-profit organization that serves people struggling with poverty by providing food, shelter, education, service coordination, and other support.
Our programs and offerings include service coordination and aftercare, children's programs, adult learning, a seasonal shelter, the Hixon House Adult Shelter, the Byrne House Family Shelter, Bev's House, and the Food Shelf.
The Haven aims to create a community where people find hope and discover possibility. We are open 365 days a year, serve over 14,500 people annually, and never charge for our services.
We rely overwhelmingly upon support from the community to carry out our mission. That support comes in a variety of ways including financial donations, volunteer time, and in-kind donations of food and other goods. Volunteers support all of our programs and make it possible for us to provide the many services we offer. The time, special skills, and dedication contributed by our volunteers are an essential part of the Haven community. We are very grateful to the individuals and groups who give of their time and money—we couldn't do it without you.
