Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Partnership has its roots in Portland, Oregon, a practice that dates from 1942, when founding partner Norman Zimmer, FAIA, joined the predecessor firm, becoming a partner in 1954. Brooks Gunsul, FAIA, and Robert Frasca, FAIA, became partners in 1966. The partnership has since grown to include Gregory Baldwin, FAIA; Larry Bruton, FAIA; Daniel Huberty, FAIA; Doss Mabe, FAIA; Evett Ruffcorn, FAIA; Robert Packard, Associate AIA; Karl Sonnenberg, AIA; Margaret DeBolt, AIA; and Ted Hyman, AIA. Each of the partners shares a commitment to excellence in design. In addition, each brings his own professional strengths to the firm, whether it be technical expertise, management, or design talent in buildings, interiors, or planning and urban design. At present there are also 24 principals, 66 associate partners and 61 associates in the 350-person firm ZGF has designed and built a diverse portfolio of public and private projects in settings ranging from the urban centers of Los Angeles, Seattle, Portland, Denver and Kansas City to small Oregon farming communities and college campuses across the country.
