One third of all food produced in South Africa is dumped in landfill, while more than 14 million people are hungry. Established in 2009 to address widespread hunger in South Africa, FoodForward SA recovers surplus food from the consumer goods supply chain and distributes it to community organisations - connecting a world of excess to a world of need. In partnership with various stakeholders, we implement an ecosystem that uses surplus food as a catalyst for social change. FoodForward SA's model promotes 11 of the UNs 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs).
