The National Health Corps is an AmeriCorps program whose mission is to foster healthy communities by delivering and connecting those who need it most with health and wellness education, benefits and services, while developing tomorrow's compassionate health leaders. Through our partnership with AmeriCorps, we work to fulfill our mission each year by recruiting, training, and placing emerging leaders in resource-limited organizations throughout Chicago, North Florida, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh. Our members help build healthy communities by providing two main services: educating kids and adults about disease prevention and management, and overall wellness and providing and connecting them with health and social services in their communities. National Health Corps was founded in 1994 out of the Corporation for National and Community Service. For over 20 years, National Health Corps has worked to help those in under served communities build the knowledge and skills for them to make smart choices about their health.
