Beginning in 1967, Philip T. Miner, Sr. formed Miner to offer recycling technologies to U.S. companies to avoid their reliance on landfill disposal. This revolutionary recycling concept was further supported when Congress passed the Clean Air Act in 1970 forcing many companies to abandon incineration as the primary method of waste disposal and look to recycling as a solution. Materials handling became a key issue for Miner's customers needing to move and process recyclable materials. This expanded Miner's offering to include truck loading dock equipment, pallet jacks and industrial door technologies.
