Great things often start from small beginnings and Prestige Care is no exception. Although founded in 1985, Prestige Care is actually the legacy of a pioneer in Oregon's long-term care industry, Sarah Delamarter.
In 1946, she began using her nursing skills to care for seniors in her home as a means to support her family. Her reputation and demand for her service grew quickly and soon she purchased a large house in Wood Village, Oregon, turning it into her first nursing home. Here the second and third generations - including Harold Delamarter, the President of Prestige Care - were introduced to the family business. Two more purchases soon followed and it marked the beginning of what is now one of the largest Northwest based operators of long-term senior care facilities.
The years following the creation of Prestige Care saw challenges, growth and stability, as well as major advances in the delivery of care and services. It was during this time that Prestige Care developed a reputation for innovative approaches to senior care. Today, Prestige Care is a complete senior service organization consisting of nursing facilities, dementia care facilities, assisted living communities and retirement communities. We're proud to say our reputation for innovation, quality, and value is just as strong now as it was when we started.
