About
In the early 1980’s, Bev and Willie Van Wyhe heard that Webster City Rewind, a motor rewind company, was selling their plastics operation. The Van Wyhe’s recognized the opportunity and purchased the company. At the time of purchase, there were only two injection molding machines and two employees. The facility eventually grew to nine injection molding machines with the latest state-of-the-art technology. Throughout the years, as Vantec began to take on more customers and employees, the once open floor space began to fill in. In order to better serve our valued customers and employees, Vantec began developing plans for a larger, more advanced, world class facility. In the spring of 1997, the building of the new facility started to take place. In the summer of 1998, the doors opened for the first time in the new spacious 60,000 sq. ft. facility. Not only was the building new, but Vantec had brought in four more injection molding machines and welcomed aboard more employees. By the end of 1998, Vantec, Inc. had a total of 13 injection molding presses and 70 employees.
