About
Stand Up Placer began as volunteer-led 24-hour rape crisis line. Over 40 years, we have become the sole provider of comprehensive services for Placer county survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking and their significant others. Our mission: Saving lives by empowering survivors and educating communities to stand up to domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Stand Up Placer is dedicated to providing survivor-driven services that offer survivors the safety to heal from their trauma and to create new lives of strength and self-sufficiency. Our major services include a 24-hour crisis line; 90-day emergency shelter; emergency food and clothing; job readiness training and search assistance; a children's advocate for safe house residents; individual, family, child, and group therapy in the safe house and service offices; case management; and legal advocacy, assistance, and court accompaniment. We are the Rape Crisis Center for Placer County, providing hospital accompaniment, advocacy, support, and follow up for sexual assault victims through the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART). We also offer a 24-month housing program to help survivors obtain long-term self-sufficiency. To help create a stronger, safer community, we provide prevention programming for local schools, workplaces, and community organizations.
