SpectraCell Laboratories, Inc., is a specialized clinical testing laboratory company. The Company commenced operations in 1993 to commercialize a unique, proprietary blood test (the Functional Intracellular Analysis™, or FIA™) that measures lymphocyte growth to diagnose functional intracellular deficiencies of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and anti-oxidants unique to each individual patient's metabolic processes and immune system. SpectraCell's nutrient testing technology was developed at the University of Texas in a research project conducted by the Clayton Foundation for Research. The Foundation received a patent covering the lymphocyte growth testing process and the culture medium used in the process. SpectraCell acquired the rights to an exclusive license of the patent from the Foundation and the Functional Intracellular Analysis™ (FIA™) was made available to practitioners.
