The Ale-8-One Bottling Company and its predecessors have operated in Winchester, Kentucky, since 1902, and have produced the ginger-based soft drink there since 1926. Last year, the company celebrated the 75th anniversary of the drink. Ale-8-One is Kentucky's only native soft drink and was developed by G. L. Wainscott, Rogers' great uncle. Rogers indicated that this agreement will greatly expand Ale-8-One's market area. Rogers said, "We believe that CCE's market power and market penetration will allow Ale-8-One to achieve the success that it deserves in areas outside our core area in Kentucky." CCE distributes Coca-Cola products in 80% of North America (including Canada) and parts of Europe.
