Sidney Frank Importing Co., Inc. (SFIC) was founded in 1972 by legendary brand builder, Sidney Frank, who had the ambition to turn import specialty liquor items into national brands. In 1974, Mast-Jägermeister SE of Germany appointed SFIC as its exclusive importer for the United States. Founder Sidney Frank is credited with fueling Jägermeister’s growth through creative, experiential marketing that capitalized on the liqueur’s newfound popularity in the 1980s. Among SFIC’s notable contributions are the introduction of the Jägerettes – the first promotional models in the spirits industry – and the revolutionary Jägermeister Tap Machine, which not only brought the brand out of the freezer and onto the bar, but also made Jägermeister the first-ever tapped spirit. For over 40 years, SFIC and Mast-Jägermeister SE have been working in a trusted partnership and together have successfully built Jägermeister to be the top selling imported liqueur in the United States market. In August of 2015, Mast-Jägermeister SE acquired SFIC and in March of 2017, SFIC became Mast-Jägermeister US, Inc. The company name change marks a new era for Mast-Jägermeister SE in the United States and is an important symbolic step for the company to truly become part of the global Mast-Jägermeister family. Mast-Jägermeister US, Inc. is based in White Plains, New York, staffs approximately 180 full-time employees and has a network of distributors and brokers throughout the United States. Parent company Mast-Jägermeister SE is firmly rooted in Wolfenbüttel, Lower Saxony. Here, and only here, the company produces Jägermeister – the world’s most successful herbal liqueur – based on a secret recipe of 56 different herbs, flowers and roots first invented over 80 years ago. Today, around 900 people around the world work for this family company.
