From an electrochemical point of view, lithium is the most valuable element due to its high reducing potential and its high specific coulombic capacity. As its melting point is lower than the thermal battery operating temperature, alloyed forms are used such as LiAl (Lithium Aluminum) or LiSi (Lithium Silicon).
