Andavo Travel, in partnership with WorldTravel BTI, is taking the integration of the Internet and travel to the next level. Through online services, we see the opportunity to provide customized travel service to both our corporate customers and the individual traveler as well. WorldTravel BTI has conducted extensive research with our top travelers to identify what they would like to see in a travel company. Obviously the basic travel services scored very highly – travelers continue to want the lowest fare, fast service, and multiple reservation options (such as Internet, phone, fax, E-mail). But they also want a "safety net" when the non-traditional communications fail (so we will always have a telephone option). The result is a new product line for Andavo customers called WorldTravelNet. WorldTravelNet will provide an array of travel services to both the corporation and traveler from a single customized Web site. If our customer has its own employee site, we will, for a one-time fee, create the travel site to match its look and feel, while providing all the functionality described and illustrated below: Delayed/Canceled Flight Info -Time is increasingly precious and a delayed or canceled flight is a very expensive waste of time. We are designing a system as a part of WorldTravelNet to automatically notify travelers of canceled or delayed flights. A message is sent to the traveler's E-mail, pager, cell phone, or PDA (such as a Palm Pilot VII) as soon as air traffic control posts the information. The system will also identify a logical alternative to the canceled or delayed flight with a one-click solution (from the PDA). 24/7 Service -The Internet attitude is permeating the travel industry and travelers expect to be able to make reservations at any time. While we provide 24/7 services today through ResAssist and our emergency after-hours service, we are designing ways to empower the traveler to make non-emergency reservations anytime, day or night. Concierge Service -The traveling "road warrior" has asked us to expand the role of the travel counselor into that of a concierge. Travelers need a single location where they can call to have all manner of problems solved-not just travel problems. "I need my car fixed while I'm on my trip.""I forgot my mother's birthday-can you send her flowers?""How do I get Dodgers tickets?" Over the next year, Andavo will be creating this sort of concierge service to make life on the road a little easier. WorldTravelNet is another example of Andavo WorldTraveI's BTI's innovative use of technology that keeps us well ahead of the other agencies and will enable us to provide the best service to our customers - now and well into the future.
