About
With a membership of more than 5,000 educators, the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine was founded in 1967 to respond to the needs of family medicine educators. Members include medical school professors, preceptors, residency program faculty, residency program directors and all involved in family medicine education. Member Benefits: 1. Meet Accreditation Requirements – Address ACGME and LCME requirements for faculty development, earn CME credit, and become a better teacher with resources such as the Residency Accreditation Toolkit. 2. Spend Less Time Creating Curricula – Use STFM or peer-created resources to teach core competencies. Access members' only resources, such as the STFM National Family Medicine Clerkship Curriculum and the Family Medicine Residency Curriculum Resource. 3. Feed Your Passion – One of the biggest benefits of STFM membership is the opportunity to work collaboratively with others toward common goals. Members of the STFM Collaboratives and Special Project Teams connect, network, and develop resources on topics of mutual interest through the STFM CONNECT forum. 4. Be "In The Know" – Your membership dues cover subscriptions to the peer-reviewed publications Family Medicine and Annals of Family Medicine. You’ll also receive twice monthly issues of the Messenger, STFM’s enewsletter for breaking news. 5. Lead STFM Initiatives – The strength of STFM is indisputably the energy, creativity, and commitment of our members. Get involved in the leadership of the organization, and help drive innovation. 6. Advocate for Change – Take a free online course, attend an advocacy conference and join STFM's advocacy network. 7. Advance Your Career – Interact with colleagues from across the United States. STFM members get access to a member directory with profiles and contact information for thousands of family medicine educators.
