RCS mission is to provide compassionate and therapeutic support to help children, adolescents and families heal from their pasts,move toward productive and fulfilling futures. RCS was founded in 1920 by members of the Pasadena Shakespeare Club who were responding to a need for help among local adolescent girls who had suffered from abuse,neglect and abandonment. Since its founding, the agency has grown from a single residential home serving 11 girls to a full-service agency providing services to more than 450 boys and girls in crisis each year.
THE RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM,provides teen girls who have suffered neglect,abuse and emotional derailment with safe homes,counseling,and educational services.Our five residential homes provide 43 girls(at any given time)ages 13 to 17 with short-term(6 to 12 months) placement.
THE ROSEMARY SCHOOL, promotes the achievement of emotionally and scholastically disadvantaged teen girls enrolled in the Residential Program, as well as at-risk girls in grades 7 to 12 referred by local agencies. Certified in 1996 by the California Department of Education, the School’s mission is to provide quality secondary education focused on the individual needs of each student,including academic,vocational, and independent living skills.
THE MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAM,operating in partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health,provides mental health evaluation,individual,group therapy with a goal to restore and maintain developmentally appropriate life functioning.
FOSTER CARE AND ADOPTION PLACEMENT SERVICES, places children ages 0 to 18 with caring foster and adoptive families and provides intensive support to families and children.
TRANSITIONAL SUPPORTIVE HOUSING FOR EMANCIPATED FOSTER YOUTH, a 24-month program for women ages 18 to 24 who have emancipated from the foster care system and need help increasing their job skills, education, and life skills.
