About
KIPP is a nonprofit network of college-preparatory, public charter schools with a 25-year track record of preparing students in educationally underserved communities for success in college and life. KIPP currently educates over 100,000 students in 255 schools across the country, including Indianapolis. KIPP Indy Public Schools (KIPP Indy) was founded in 2004 with one class of fifth-grade students and has grown to educate 1,100 students across three schools in grades K-10. KIPP Indy Legacy High (Legacy High), which opened in the fall of 2019 and currently educates just ninth-grade students, will continue to grow by one grade level each year. Our network will complete its growth in 2023, educating 1,400 students in grades K-12 in the Martindale-Brightwood community of Indianapolis.
