In 2006, Seaboard Foods began to market and sell fresh pork products produced at a new pork processing plant located in St. Joseph, Mo. The plant is owned and operated by Triumph Foods. The producer-owners of the Triumph Foods plant have aligned with Seaboard Foods and follow a controlled integrated pork production model similar to the Guymon, Okla., system to ensure product consistency between the two plants. Seaboard Foods' integrated system provides a number of strategic advantages relative to other companies in the industry. These advantages, which result largely from significant control of the production and processing chain, allow the company to produce high quality, safe food products. Seaboard Foods' strong commitment to research and development will continue to enhance the advantages and value-added opportunities now and into the future. The consistency and quality of Seaboard Foods pork has allowed the company to quickly gain market share in the United States, as well as become one of the leading exporters from the United States to Japan, Mexico, Korea and other premium foreign markets.
