Situated among the bright lights of downtown Reno and adjacent to the legendary Reno Arch, Reno’s new landmark property, Whitney Peak Hotel, is now in development and scheduled to open in the Spring of 2014. The hotel will have 158 hotel rooms, located on floors 11-16. As Downtown Reno’s only non-gaming hotel, Whitney Peak Hotel will cater to guests with an active lifestyle, offering them a boutique hotel experience that reflects and capitalizes on the local culture, geography and region.
Located 30 minutes from the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the existing 16-story property is currently home to BaseCamp, a 7,000-square-foot indoor bouldering park featuring the world’s tallest exterior climbing wall at 164 feet. The climbing wall is located on the 2nd floor of the building.
Another signature component of the hotel will be CARGO, Reno’s ultimate live music experience/banquet and meeting space. Cargo features award-winning artists, nationally/internationally touring rock bands, and local talent within the indie rock, pop and alternative fusion genres. Located on the 1st floor, this space will be an approximately 1,100 capacity standing-room concert venue and will have a full-service bar featuring domestic and craft beers, as well as locally inspired cocktails.
On the 1st floor, the hotel will also have a full service restaurant and bar. The Whitney Peak Hotel is currently exploring strategic partnerships relating to Food & Beverage as it relates management.
