Bethel University (formerly Bethel College), launched in 1947, is an urban-situated, evangelical institution affiliated with the Missionary Church. Bethel is composed of 1,500 students from 30 states and 18 countries, with 31.5 percent from culturally diverse backgrounds, and more than 250 employees. Bethel offers undergraduate, graduate, adult and online programs in more than 50 areas of study.
Its city (Mishawaka) is home to 250,000 residents, five colleges (including Notre Dame), the second largest shopping district in the state of Indiana, 15,000 businesses, 50 parks, and Mishawaka's own renovated, 3-mile Riverwalk development. Resort venues on Lake Michigan are 45 minutes away.
