The Level Crossing Removal Authority has been established to oversee the removal of 50 dangerous and congested level crossings across Melbourne by 2022. The Authority will ensure that the level crossings are removed in a coordinated and efficient manner, and is responsible for all aspects of the project including planning and development, stakeholder engagement, procurement, through to construction and delivery. We are also responsible for the delivery of the extension South Morang train line to Mernda to cater for the significant population growth in Melbourne’s north. We will also be delivering the Hurstbridge rail line upgrade project, which includes a 1.2 kilometre duplication of the line between Heidelberg and Rosanna. Visit http://www.levelcrossings.vic.gov.au for more information about the project.
