At mRelief, we believe food is a human right. mRelief is a tech nonprofit that provides an easy-to-use platform through web, text messaging and voice that helps people sign up for SNAP (food stamps). Our mission is to transform access to social services for the inherent dignity of all people. To date, we have helped more than 900,000 families connect to social services and unlocked over $300 million in food stamp benefits. mRelief is truly unique in the nonprofit space—being entirely tech-based, and a sustainable business. mRelief has been backed by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Y Combinator, the Knight Foundation, New Media Ventures Fund, Unorthodox Philanthropy and the Stupski Foundation. Our clients include the Catholic Charities, Share our Strength and the National Domestic Workers Alliance. As a nonprofit, all revenues and incremental funds go toward improving our technology and program objective to feed more families. mRelief was co-founded by Rose Afriyie, former Googler and White House Alum who was recently awarded Crain's 40 under 40. Co-founder Genevieve Nielsen was recently awarded Forbes 30 under 30 for her work at mRelief.
