One Reel produces a wide array of educational, cultural and artistic events, with Bumbershoot being our most iconic.
In fact, One Reel has been contributing to the Bumbershoot legacy since 1972. In 1980, the City of Seattle hired One Reel to produce the festival on their behalf, then in 1995 the organization started to produce the event independently. In recent years, One Reel has partnered with AEG Live to produce Bumbershoot for a new generation of festival-goers.
One Reel remains an instrumental part of Bumbershoot and we are proud to connect audiences with diverse and progressive arts and cultural ideas during the festival, presenting access and opportunities that would otherwise not exist.
This unwavering commitment extends to all events produced by One Reel, including Career Days, Pianos In The Parks, the Mayor's Arts Awards and Art Saves Me. Throughout the year, we fuel Seattle's civic pride through signature experiences that foster growth and development in our community and the arts. Our objective is to increase participation and opportunities for artists and audiences from all backgrounds, and to leave a lasting cultural legacy for the future.
While many of the events produced by One Reel are thought of as iconic and defining of our city, in fact, it is ultimately Seattle that guides and defines our work. While One Reel exists to light up the Northwest with the best, most interesting and unique events imaginable, the experiences we produce are emblematic of Seattle values: arts, accessibility and inclusivity.
