Since 1973, Children's Council has been striving to make high-quality, affordable child care a reality for all San Francisco families.
We provide child care payment assistance as well as free San Francisco child care resources and referrals for parents. We offer workshops and supportive services for child care providers who are licensed, seeking licensure, or are license-exempt. In addition, we raise public awareness about the necessity of child- and family-friendly policies.
Children's Council helps children grow, families work, and San Francisco prosper.

Our work is best accomplished through collaboration among staff, Board of Directors, families andchild care providers.
Families and providers are best supported by culturally informed, diverse, competent, and caring staff.
A strong and healthy community is aware of child care needs and is engaged in working toward best solutions.
Community investment in child care requires productive partnerships among community organizations, providers, families, government, businesses and the public.
