Since 1975, Donate Life Northwest has been saving lives and improving health through programs which educate and inspire Pacific Northwesterners about organ, eye and tissue donation.
Thanks to Donate Life Northwest:
- Over 2.3 million Oregonians are registered organ, eye and tissue donors.
- DMV employees throughout the region ask every license, permit or ID applicant "Do you want to register as an organ, eye and tissue donor?" This partnership has helped us achieve extraordinary registration rates: 73% of Oregon drivers are registered donors, and 74% of Washington drivers are registered!
- Thousands of high school students receive donation education in the classroom, using our free presentation and Go Recycle Yourself curriculum programs
- Our unique community of over 500 volunteers and supporters are connected and passionate advocates for our lifesaving message: deceased donor family and friends, living kidney donors, cornea, tissue and/or organ recipients, and medical professionals
- Our groundbreaking Living Kidney Donation initiatives will increase awareness, debunk myths and educate multicultural audiences about kidney disease causes and options
We serve as the public voice of donation, representing regional donation agencies (Community Tissue Services, Lions VisionGift, and Pacific Northwest Transplant Bank) and transplant centers (Legacy Health, Oregon Health & Science University) to reach the community and media with facts about donation options, and to save more lives through awareness of organ, eye and tissue donation options.
