Potterish is online since November 27th, 2002, a few days after the release of the second movie in Brazil. The site was the product of the tedium of two college girls during their vacation period. They applied their knowledge on Internet in the attempt to create a homepage about Harry Potter. No one could imagine then the success the site would have, becoming the best Harry Potter site in Brazil and one of the Top 5 in the world. Today, Potterish has a Fan-fiction system – Floreios e Borrões (Flourish & Blots) – where visitors can read stories (over 19 thousand) written by fans and a forum – Grimmauld Place – where they can discuss Harry Potter and any other subject, in total more than five hundred thousand messages. Beside that, we recently started the Potterish Podcast, reformulated the Editorials section with a hundred texts written by fans and we also got the largest Harry Potter content of Brazilian Internet, with more than 350 interviews with the author translated and info about actors, reviews of the films and books and a whole world of information. On September 27, 2006, Potterish was awarded with the FSA – Fan Site Award, that the writer JK Rowling gives to the best Harry Potter sites around the world. Potterish was the sixth site to be honoured with the prize, being the only one in the year of 2006 and the first that wasn't in English.
