About
Florida Covering Kids & Families (FL-CKF) works collaboratively with Florida agencies and stakeholders to advocate and conduct outreach for Florida KidCare, the state’s children’s health insurance program (CHIP), and the federally-funded Health Insurance Marketplaces (HIM) for the Affordable Care Act. The initiative aims to ensure all Floridians have access to high quality health care coverage . FL-CKF also maintains strong channels of communication with local communities in order to reduce health disparities for special populations. Children and families eligible for health insurance coverage are provided educational information and enrollment assistance by FL-CKF. We employ three strategies to accomplish this: •Simplify enrollment and renewal processes for Medicaid, Florida KidCare and the Marketplaces to make them more user-friendly •Coordinate with the state and federal agencies administering these programs so families can successfully navigate through the enrollment process without being overwhelmed by red tape and bureaucracy •Conduct and organize outreach programs to identify, enroll, and retain eligible, but uninsured, children and families in every county in Florida
