The Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority (BGPA) manages Kings Park and Botanic Garden and Bold Park in Perth, Western Australia under the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority Act 1998. The Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority became part of the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions on 1 July 2017.
Kings Park and Botanic Garden has iconic status as Perth’s premier park incorporating the Western Australian Botanic Garden, expansive parklands and around 270 hectares of remnant bushland. It is the most visited tourist destination in Perth and offers a prestigious work environment to its employees, among some of the highest profile gardens in the State. The Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority also manages Bold Park, an outstanding 437-hectare coastal bushland reserve ten kilometres west of Perth.
