About
The Oregon International Port of Coos Bay is the public port district for Oregon's Coos Bay area. Established in 1912, the port serves as a facilitator to the harbor’s maritime industry and as an economic development and transportation advocacy organization.\n\nThe port also owns and operates the Charleston Marina, the Charleston Marina RV Park and the Charleston Shipyard. As part of the Coos Bay area, Charleston is the gateway to popular Oregon State Parks, ocean beaches and the majestic and rugged North Pacific coastline.\n\nCoos Bay is the largest deep-draft coastal harbor between San Francisco Bay and Puget Sound. It has an experienced maritime labor force, a wide range of maritime services and a short 15-mile navigation channel. In support of industry and maritime commerce, the port owns the 134-mile Coos Bay rail line connecting the deep-draft Coos Bay harbor and regional manufacturers to the North American Class 1 freight rail system. These factors assure that inbound and outbound cargoes move efficiently through Coos Bay’s marine terminals to both domestic and international markets.
