Founded in 1996, the mission of the Stamford Public Education Foundation (SPEF) is to deliver educational programs and resources that elevate student, educator and parent success by bridging the gap between needs in the Stamford Public Schools and resources in our community. During 2019-20, SPEF provided services to all 21 of Stamford’s public schools.
The vision of the Foundation is that each and every student in the Stamford Public Schools will graduate from high school prepared and inspired to be a productive member of society.
SPEF delivers educational programs, focusing on four pillars of programmatic support which include: Family Programs, Enrichment Programs, college and career readiness, and Kindergarten Readiness.
For the 2019 – 2020 school year the Foundation will serve over 2,600 students, distribute over 5,000 new books, provide over 16,000 hours of tutoring, engage over 900 students in mentoring programs, and provide the district with over 60,000 hours program support, thanks to the commitment of over 600 volunteers.
Its only with the support from our 600+ volunteers, corporations, private foundations and individuals that SPEF can provide all the life-changing service we offer to the student s of Stamford.
