For over 40 years, LAAPA has committed to "providing students of all ages with the education, inspiration, and motivation conducive to a lifetime appreciation for the performing arts." LAAPA offers the largest variety of performing arts programs in the Greater New Orleans area to students of all ages and levels. Programs include: piano, guitar, voice, singing, violin, cello, drums, mandolin, ukulele, bass, brass, woodwinds, preschool music, ballet, hip-hop, jazz, tap tumbling, parent & tot dance, musical theater, & more. Locations include Covington, Mandeville, and River Ridge. All of the faculty members at the Academy are university trained professionals who are dedicated to inspiring students, making lessons fun, and teaching what each individual student wants to learn. Benefits to students: Free weekly music theory classes are offered to all students enrolled in private music lessons. Free strength & conditioning classes are offered to all students enrolled in 2 or more dance classes. Free and unlimited makeup workshops are offered whenever a student misses a lesson. Optional recitals are held twice a year to allow students to share their progress with family and friends. Each facility is equipped with state-of-the-art music technology and teaching apps. Open Monday through Saturday with no semester commitments.
