Since 1961, the Retail Design Institute has been the only non-profit organization dedicated to the international profession of retail store planning and design; to be a collaborative community where ideas, knowledge, and passion would be shared at a local level and enable members to fulfill the fast-paced planning and design needs of retail. Today, membership includes architects, graphic designers, lighting designers, interior designers, store planners, visual merchandisers, resource designers, brand strategists, educators, trade partners, editors and publishers, and students. With active chapters in Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami/Fort Lauderdale, New York, Ohio, Seattle, St. Louis, Sao Paulo, Sydney/Melbourne, Toronto, and Dublin; the Institute meetings are attended by over 4,000 members and non-members per year.
