About
The Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities supports 3,600 people to live, work and learn successfully in their community. Supports and services are available life-long through contracts with partner agencies. All services for people with developmental disabilities are paid for by local tax dollars, and state and federal funds. Our primary source of funding is from property tax levies collected annually. For every $4 we spend of local tax levy dollars, we receive $6 in federal funds, which enables people with disabilities to live, work and lead meaningful lives in Butler County. We employ 150 staff. Services overview: Services for Children - We provide in-home support and coaching for families with children under 3 years old. Support Coordination - We arrange for support for people aged 3 years and up through their lifetime, if needed. Service plans are developed with individuals and families to design supports provided through partner agencies. Services for Adults - Provider agencies offer programs to individuals that support them to engage in their community through recreation and employment. Provider agencies also offer job training and development so people can find work in the community. Board staff support people to plan their day. Community Inclusion - We support people so they can participate in all aspects of community life, advocate, and speak up for themselves. Quality Assurance - We investigate health and safety issues, and we monitor and offer support to provider agencies.
