The Illinois Fire Service Institute is the statutory fire academy for Illinois. Its mission is to help firefighters do their work through training, education, information and research. Training is delivered at IFSI's Champaign, Illinois campus and at regional training sites and local fire departments around the state. Each year, more than 60,000 students take classes at IFSI.
