Cinfed Credit Union is a financial co-operative owned by and operated for our members. It began on March 20, 1934 when nine federal employees gathered to organize the Cincinnati Federation of Federal Employees Credit Union, Inc. Originally, a credit union for members of the Local #75 Federation of Federal Employees Union. In 1935, the field of membership was amended to include all active or retired federal employees in Cincinnati and vicinity and the name was changed to Cincinnati Federal Employees Credit Union, Inc. Membership was expanded to include the families of credit union members in 1937. Major changes occurred in 1975. The credit union became a federally chartered credit union and the name changed to Cinfed Employees Federal Credit Union. In 1984, Hamilton County Employees Federal Credit Union merged with Cinfed. In 1992, Southern Ohio Regional Transit Authority Federal Credit Union (SORTA) merged with Cinfed. Over the years Cinfed has added many select employer groups, and we're still growing. Thanks to the continuing support of our members, Cinfed Credit Union has a rich past and a promising future. Do you have questions? Here are some of the questions frequently asked by our members.
